“Hands down one of the best experiences of my life. We brought 16 people for a business retreat and Dan made it seamless.”

“A father-son trip we'll be talking about for the rest of our lives. Fishing off the dock from our own cabin is unreal.”

BOOKING FAQ

How quickly will I hear back?

Dan personally responds to every inquiry within 24 hours — most go out same-day. If your dates are open, you’ll get a reservation summary with pricing and a deposit link on first reply.

What is the minimum stay?

3 nights in shoulder season (May, September) and 5 nights in peak salmon season (June–August). Full-property group rentals run 5–7 nights. Flexible on off-peak dates.

What’s the deposit and cancellation policy?

A 50% deposit holds your reservation — remaining balance due 60 days before arrival. Deposits are refundable more than 90 days out, refundable with re-booking between 60 and 90 days, and non-refundable inside 60 days (we’ll work with you on date changes wherever possible).

Can you hold a date while I finalize my group?

Yes. Courtesy holds are available for 48–72 hours while you confirm numbers. Just note the hold request in your inquiry.

Do you book the guides and charters too?

Yes — Kenai and Kasilof guided days, Homer/Seward ocean charters, and fly-out adventures are all coordinated through us. One point of contact for lodging, gear, and logistics.

PEOPLE ALSO ASK

When is the best time to fish the Kenai River?

The most productive Kenai River fishing window is mid-June through mid-September. Late June for early-run sockeye and king salmon. Mid-to-late July for the massive second-run sockeye return (peak July 18–25). Mid-August for first-run silver salmon. Mid-September for second-run silvers and trophy rainbow trout. Marlow’s is open through the entire season at 36370 Stephens Dr, Sterling, AK.

How far is Marlow’s on the Kenai from Anchorage?

Approximately a 3-hour scenic drive down the Sterling Highway. Drive-in, road-accessible, no float plane required.

What species can I catch on the Kenai River?

King salmon (June, regulation-dependent), sockeye salmon (June first run, July–early August second run), silver salmon (August–September), pink salmon (odd years), rainbow trout (May–October, peak September), and Dolly Varden. From Marlow’s we also coordinate ocean halibut and lingcod charters out of Cook Inlet.

Do I need a fishing license to fish the Kenai River?

Yes. Non-residents need an Alaska sport fishing license, available daily, weekly, or annually from the Alaska Department of Fish & Game. King salmon fishing requires an additional king stamp.

Is the Kenai River good for first-time anglers?

Yes. The Kenai is one of the most accessible big-fish rivers in North America. Sockeye fishing in July is technique-dependent but learned quickly with a guide. Silver fishing in August rewards persistence over precision. Most first-time guests at Marlow’s catch their first Kenai salmon within their first guided morning.
