Field Notes

  • Yellow rump and yellow patch on side.
  • Male in spring has yellow crown.
  • Bright yellow rump.
  • Thin, pointed bill-but sturdier and thicker than most warblers.
  • White spots on tail.
  • It used to be called "Myrtle Warbler"

  • Magnolia Warbler is yellow below.
  • Cape May Warbler is has yellow on its face.
  • The Palm Warbler feeds on the ground and wags its tail while feeding.
