  • Iridescent blue upper parts.
  • Bright white under parts.
  • No white around eye.
  • Tiny bill.
  • Forked tail.
  • Female more dull than male.
  • Juveniles dull brown above and may have slight gray breast band.
  • Readily nests in birdhouses.

Similar Species

Violet-Green Swallowhas white on face all around the eye and white rump spots on sides visible in flight.
