Field Notes

  • Very long iridescent green tail.
  • Black head, breast, back, rump, legs and undertail coverts.
  • White belly.
  • Black sturdy bill.
  • Iridescent wings with white patches in flight.
The Black-billed Magpie is a very noisy, striking bird with long tail and behavior, it often harasses eagles and ravens as it tries to steal food from them.
